Bob Ewell was very angry after the case. He was mad because Atticus put up a good fight and that the jury took so long. After the case Bob went up to Atticus and spat in his face. Then he called Atticus all these bad words. Then he threatened Atticus. Ms. Maudie thinks that the whole thing was wrong and that Tom didn't get a fair trial. Ms. Maudie thinks that the jurt made the verdict guilty because Tom was black. Scout thinks that the verdict is bad but she likes Walter Cunningham again because one of his family members held up on the verdict. She wants to become friends with Walter again.

So far I think that this book is about racism, and Class. I think that this book is about racism because the black people aare still treated wrong because they live in the south. And all of the people are still mad and hate black people. It's also wrong because in the Tom Robinson case, Atticus had all the evidence to show that Tom Robinson was innocent. But the jury convicted him anyway, because he's black. I think that this book is about class because there are different type of people in Maycomb. There are rich people, middle class people, poor people, the African Americans, and the Ewells.

In my neighborhood there is this one house where you never see anyone there. All you see is the car parked out front. I think that this relates to Boo Radley because he never came outside and people rarely see him in the book. It's like they stay in there house everyday. I didn't even see them when they moved in because I used to play over there all the time and i didn't see them move in. It's like they only come out when I go to school. Quite a few times in the morning before i go to school I see the grass in there yard and it looks like a jungle and when I come back from school it' cut and looks perfect. I don't even know the names of the people that live there

I think that I am more like Jem because I don't like my sister's to be around me with my friends. And I don't like them going to my school. I also go outside and play a lot in the summer with my friend we play football, baseball, dodge ball, and soccer. I like to do lots of things with my dad like fishing, River rafting, hiking and other things. Right now he is one of the coaches on my baseball team. I like my sister's a lot to because they take me to do things like six flags, the movies, the mall. I think that my family is really cool.

I think it would change for the better because then Alexandra would have never of come into the story that much. Because they would already have a feminine influence. i think she would calm Atticus down with his trials and little gatherings. But then Cal might not be there or she would be just a regular African American maid. I think that she would have had a few words wit Ms. Caroline (Scout's teacher). So mostly I think that if their mom was in the story that it would change most of it.

Perspective: Jem


Today my aunt Alexandra came to visit. She told us the reason she came to Maycomb was because ahe thought that Scout and I needed a femenine influence but I don't think so. When she came the whole town was trying to talk with her. Basically she was the center of atterntion in Maycomb. She always kept going on about how the finchs are a good family and always do good. Later on Scout asked Atticus what rape was and he gave her a very detailed and leagal definition of the word. And she didn't understand. Then they start talking about how the trip to Cal's church was. Then Alexandra made a big fuss because we had went to Cal' church. So then she told Atticus that he should get rid of her. But then Atticus refuses and says she part of the family. Later on that night Scout and I got sent to bed because we got into a fight. After that Scout saw something under her bed and it was Dill. he had run away from his parents because they weren't giving him enough attention.

Chapters 10-12
Perspective: Scout

Today was a very crazy day Jem and I got our guns and went to go shoot birds. but on the way Jem a dog. It's name was Tim. The dog was a mad dog. After we saw it we went to go tell Cal. Then Cal went to check it out. When she saw it she went to every ones door to tell them that a mad dog was on the loose. As soon as everyone had found out Mr. Heck and Atticus came to help. Mr. Heck was the Sheriff. When they finally found out they had to kill the dog for everyone to be safe. Mr. Heck told Atticus to shoot it because he was a poor shot. When Atticus shot Tim it was with only one shot. Jem and I were staring amazed. After that Atticus and Mr. Heck left and Ms. Maudie said that we should stay away from the dog even though that it's dead. Jem was still amazed that Atticus could shoot like that. Ms. Maudie told us that when Atticus was young his nick-name was one-shot Finch. He was called that because he shot 15 birds with only 16 shots. Then after complained about wasteing ammo. JEm had wondered why Atticus had never told us about it.

Perspective: Dill

Well it's almost Summer again so now I can go play with my old friends in Maycomb, Scout and Jem. I can't wait to see them again. YES finally here. We started playing this game called the Boo Radley game. After playing that game for a while we got in trouble by Mr. Atticus. But after a while I think scout was getting a little jealous of the relationship Jem and I had. So then she started hanging out with old widow Ms. Maudie Atkins. I heard that while she's at her house they talk about Mr. Radley. On my last day at Maycomb Jem and i sneak over to the Radley place to check it out. Then next thing we know Scouts here with us. So we walk around trying to see if we can see inside. Then we see a man with a hat and a flee. Then we heard a gunshot go off and when we hurry home Jems pants get caught on a fence so he has to take them off to get away. When we get home Mr. Atticus asks Jem what happened to his pants and I told him we were playing strip poker and then Jem told him we were playing with matches. Before that we heard that shot was Mr. Radley shooting at an African-American.

Perspective of Scout



Well today was my first day of school and it didn't go so good. The teacher, Mrs. Caroline, is really mean to me. Just because my Daddy taught me how to read she was mad and also made me feel bad about myself. At recess I told Jem about everything that had happened. He said that it was how Mrs. Caroline taught kids. At Lunch Walter forgot to bring his lunch to school so Mrs. Caroline gave him a quarter to buy lunch and told him to pay her back later. But Mrs. Caroline doen't know that Walter's family is poor and don't have any money. They only pay my dad back in food for leagal troubles. But when I try to explain this to her she doesn't understand and gets mad at me and hits my hand with a ruler. When I went back to lunch I rubbed Walter's nose in the dirt for getting me in trouble before my brother got in the way. Then he ivites Walter to dinner at our house.

Which character would you like to be like? In what way? Why?

I would want to be Daniel because he saves the world from the aliens. I would also want to be Daniel because he has super human strength and speed. It is also cool that he is a bounty hunter, but a good one. Most of the time bounty hunters aren't good. And I think it would be awesome to be from such a great race as he was and how beautiful the planet he once lived on was described to look like.

I wonder why the author...
I wonder why the author chose to write about sci-fi because most authors write about something for a reason and I would like to know why. something that bothers me in this book is how Ergent Seth destroyed Daniels home planet and how the people had went underground. Also how they had started living.

Explain how the author creates suspense in this book?
The author creates suspense in this book by making Ergent Seth use his powers and turn himself into a girl to trick Daniel. The girl Ergent Seth turns into is Phoebe. And then Daniel falls for it but doesn't know and him and Ergent Seth dated. Then Daniel went to Phoebe's house because Ergent Seth knew who Daniel was and Knew where his home base was. And Ergent Seth turned Daniels place into a cemetery with Daniels name on a head stone. Since Daniel went to Phoebe's house they played chess and went to sleep. Then when Daniel woke up Phoebe was gone so he looked all over the place for her the he finds her past the soccer field and he comes to hold her then she turns back into ERGENT SETH.

What advice would you give to a character in the book? Why?
I would give some advice to Daniel to not fall for girls so easily. He went for Phoebe to fast. Since he fell for her to fast she turned out to be Egrent Seth. He didn't take his time because if he would have he would have known that was Seth and not just a regular girl. Thats why I think Daniel needs some advice.

What does this book make you wonder about?
This book makes me wonder if there actually is aliens in the world. Also if there are alien outlaw's and alien hunters. I know that scientist are trying to find out if there is or was aliens on mars. Since there trying to see if there was any water on that planet. This book also makes me wonder about the kids who have lost there parents and how sad that must be for them. And what they have to go through every day.

Do you think you would read another book by this author? Why or Why not?
I think I would read another book by this author because is books are sci-fi and there really interesting as well. James also wrote a sequel to this book that is called Daniel X watch the skies. After I finish reading the book that I am no i will try to find that at a book store or a library. I like the wierd way he describes the aliens in the book as well.
